Having weak mental health does not necessarily mean you are suffering from mental weakness. It can be a weakness in our psyche. Therefore, it is important to notice some of the signs to make assumptions about whether you are mentally active or not. Make sure to use these signs as a way of noticing when you should check-in and start working on your mental health.

1. Coward to move out of your comfort zone

Have you ever come across situations where you don’t want to come out of your comfort zone? This can be one of the signs you are mentally weak.

You may tend to set a comfortable limit for yourself. If you are mentally weak, you often find it challenging to go beyond your comfort zone. In the end, it only causes great stress and anxiety. You are afraid of change. You don’t understand and believe in the idea that change is inevitable. Since your mind and body are experiencing changes on a daily basis, you need to challenge your limits. If you don’t, you are likely to progress with a negative effect. Ultimately, there will be a decrease in your mental and physical abilities.

2. Not giving yourself a margin of failure

We all know that failure does not mean, you can never be successful. Of course, you can! But if you do not consider failure as an option, you will not be able to work against failures. Even you have been hiding from trying in the first place.

This is one of the signs you are mentally weak when you are so scared to fail that you don’t even try. And this tends to make your life very small. Maybe you just want to live up to your parents’ high standards.

Perfectionism can make you a mentally weak person in the sense that you can’t handle not being perfect. You start doubting your preexisting abilities. Try developing a strong mentality by seeing failures as a stepping stone towards achievements. Work hard and trust in your skills to get back from your shortcomings.

3. Lack of courage

People who lack the clarity, courage, or determination to follow their own dreams will often find ways to discourage yours. Live your truth and don’t EVER stop!

Are you good at taking risks? No? It indicates that you are mentally weak. Lack of courage has filled your heart with fear. You may want to achieve a lot, but fail to do so.  Your self-made cage becomes a hurdle to your success. Never getting out of your comfort zone ultimately makes you less confident. Remember, confident people, keep exploring new ways even if they are not intelligent.  

So, if you want to gain something more significant in your life at both intellectual and professional levels, develop courage. You must be courageous enough to take risks and come out of your comfort zone. Doing so will be to increase your mental strength.

4. Do not express emotions

If you are not expressing your emotions, it is one of the signs you are mentally weak.

Are you not good at showing emotions? You can never express your emotions; those angry feelings, like sadness, embarrassment, and disappointment. Might be possible, you cannot express happy emotions either.

It’s often hard for you to say that your feelings are hurt. When you try to hide your feelings not being able to express your anger and love, you are mentally weak. Expressing emotions is not difficult; you just need to build courage in yourself.

Label your feelings to find ways to express your emotions in a healthy way. It definitely takes strength, but believe in yourself, you can do this! Do not deny your pain or try to convince others that you’re irresistible.

5. Low energy level

You may have noticed that your energy level is getting lower day by day. This may be because you tend to find only negative things. You don’t feel positive and keep daunting your mind with negativity. Thinking negative is never good for your mental health. Your body’s energy level decreases making you a lazy person. Also, you don’t like eating food specifically. In the end, you may lose all your mental and physical energy.

Being mentally healthy is only possible when you care for your whole person. Working on your mental health to avoid negativity often includes exercising, getting plenty of sleep, and practicing mindfulness and gratitude. You should also try to eat more nutritiously.

7. You are anxious all the times

If you struggle with anxiety all the time, it indicates you are not mentally strong. You cannot control your anxiety it feels like an uphill battle.

One day you will surely improve your mental health. When you will start working on your strengths, you will notice don’t feel as anxious anymore. But when you do feel depressed, try to deal with it in a healthy manner. It is always a struggle to start, but don’t worry! You will learn how to cope with depression and anxiety and won’t feel as anxious in your daily life.

8. Muscle Weakness

Another common sign of mental weakness is muscle. When you become lazy doing nothing, you are more likely to lose your strongest muscle and strength of the brain. 

There are days in your life when you don’t want specifically to do something new. It may retard your mental abilities losing the elasticity of your brain muscles. Additionally, when you overthink, feel depressed, endure extra stress, and follow an unhealthy lifestyle, you may become mentally weak. All of these factors combined can make you feel burdened, stressed, and inactive.

To refresh your brain muscles, it is important to live a happy and healthy lifestyle. It does not need to be too big. Practice exercises and yoga just for fun. Even read a book just for fun, not for education or research purposes. Allow “Just for fun” to be a permanent part of your life! A happy and healthy life is waiting for you!

  • Take care of your body
  • Quiet your mind
  • Break up the monotony
  • Avoid alcohol and other drugs
  • Get help when you need it
  • Learn how to deal with stress
