“Gratitude unlocks the fullness of life. It turns what we have into enough, and more. It turns denial into acceptance, chaos to order, confusion to clarity. It can turn a meal into a feast, a house into a home, a stranger into a friend.”

Melody Beattie

When was the last time you sit back and reflect on the people and things you have in your life and express gratitude for them?

Psychological researches have shown if you express gratitude regularly, it may influence a range of positive benefits on your life. Gratitude confers you the best time to reflect on all the blessings you must be grateful for. This is quite usual to get yourself engaged in the routine schedule madness and not able to thank the people that help you every day-in and day-out.

Gratitude is considered as one of the most golden and desirable attitudes. Certainly, everyone has much to be thankful for. Why not express your gratitude? Even though it charges nothing but offers countless benefits.

From your lover, to your supporter, and to your challenger, show your gratitude who actually mean to you.

How you can show gratitude to people you have in your life?

If you’ve been figuring out how to express gratitude more often — whether it’s thinking about the positives in your own life or doing something good for someone else, here are some simple, quick, and easy ways you can begin. Even though you haven’t expressed gratitude to your friends, colleagues, neighbors, or family members, these simple ways will be enough to confer it.

1. Make time commitments

Do you want to know the most meaningful way to show gratitude to your friends or family members? Show them how much they mean to you by making a time commitment. Watch films, play board games, or just cook together.

You may not be showing love to your family members, friends, or colleagues and might be taking them for granted without even realizing it.

Tell them that you love them every single day. Appreciate all of their help, love, rides, food, and any other offerings they have been giving you. Do this quite often. Confess them personally, in an appreciation card, and over the phone.

2. Smile, smile, smile

Smiling is one of the cutest things you can do to show gratitude to other people. Show your gratitude with an ear-to-ear smile and help outspread that yummy feeling.

Try to smile at as many people as you can so it can appreciate you to think about the things you are truly thankful for if you are having a bad day. Not matter that person is your loved one or simply someone you meet on the street. Making an eye contact and giving a smile presents how you are associated and engaged in the present moment.

3. Avoid negativity

Isn’t that awful how quickly one negative thought can change into a negative vibe mindset and pattern? How you can avoid negative self-talk?

You first recognise what trigger these mindsets. For example, it happens, sometimes, when you look at yourself in the mirror and feel more critical. Next time, do observe yourself doing this. Stop and avert your concern to something you like about yourself! That’s how you can avoid negativity and becomes more thankful.

It might not be easy at first, no less than anything, the more you observe positivity, the easier it will become.

4. Give people your full attention

How frequently you’ve seen people out for dinner together, only to observe they are perplexed to their phones but not giving attention to others?

Giving proper attention to the people around you is an ultimate way of expressing your gratitude and making them feel that you enjoy their company.

“What matters is a good person, a good soul, someone who genuinely gives good attention to the relationships in their lives”.

Sophia Bush

Listening to others is also included in expressing gratitude. This is an easy way to start expressing gratitude towards others.

5. Give gifts

You don’t have to buy the most fancy or expensive gift to express gratitude instead, find a way to express how much that person means to you.

Don’t wait for birthdays or holidays to give a gift; sometimes you can give gifts just to show love and gratitude. If your mother wants learning to cook Chinese food, get her a book recipe to help get her started. That’s how you can show love to your mother. If your friend has been yearning for his favorite rock star’s concert but finding it way too expensive, get her a ticket to show how much you care about him.

6. Write a note

Your family member or perhaps the one you love so much will appreciate a handwritten note from you. In fact, they will hold it back somewhere for years to come.

You can also give your loved ones a list of all the good stuff they’ve been doing for you. This is the best way to express your gratitude that you care a lot about them. Making the list a bit more attractive and decorative is even a wonderful idea, that person can hang the list to feel even better! If you really want to make a great effort, you can even framework it for the person.

7. Don’t complain

Whenever something awful happens, this is something natural that you want to complain about. You are more likely to become impatient and annoyed with anyone who confronts you. Especially, you complain when task goes against your consent making you an unhappy person. Also, you may even annoy with yourself when a driver cuts you off in traffic.

Remember; complain sets up negative mindset reinforcing adverse effects even without offering a solution to the problem at hand. You should rather take a few deep breaths and being courageous when you feel something frustrated. Always look for positivity, it will applaud you more.

“Let us rise up and be thankful, for if we didn’t learn a lot today, at least we learned a little, and if we didn’t learn a little, at least we didn’t get sick, and if we got sick, at least we didn’t die; so, let us all be thankful.”

Buddha

8. Have courage

Tricky situation may occur in your life. Do not lose hope. Have courage!

Be thankful for the great things you have in your life. Show your gratitude for wellness, health, and presence of loved ones around you by bragging to say this, live it and keep it that way.

9. Show love by touch

This is not necessary, sometimes, to express gratitude by saying fancy words or giving expensive gifts. You can even show your gratitude by a mere touch. Next time when you’ll say thank you to the person you love, reach out and put down your hand on his/her arm. Express just how much grateful you are.
