Surah Al-Baqara, Verse 256
There is no compulsion in religion; truly the right way has become clearly distinct from error; therefore, whoever disbelieves in the Shaitan and believes in Allah he indeed has laid hold on the firmest handle, which shall not break off, and Allah is Hearing, Knowing.
I was bewitched by the term عروةالوثقیٰ when I first came across it in message no. 256 of chapter The Cow from the holy book Quran. This one term has a lot to tell; deep, true struggle tales of those who always wanted to acquire oneness and sturdiness. Urwa-Tul-Wusqaa is an antidote, a permanent handhold that healed many, and is continuing to heal the humanity. Bayan Quran tells the meaning of Urwa-Tul-Wusqaa as a “firm handhold” which will not break, and will not let you break either. On the other hand, analysis of this verse defines Urwa-Tul-Wusqaa as a rope of Allah, that’s a connecting string between you and your creator. Quran is Urwa-Tul-Wusqaa, the connecting string and rope of Allah SWT. It is also said, hold tightly to the rope of ALLAH SWT so that you will not fall apart. These two verses together indicate that Urwa-Tul-Wusqaa is a connecting force that not only keeps the Ummah together but also prevents an individual from breaking.
One can’t get hold of Urwa-Tul-Wusqaa unless he or she is broken, broken so badly that they are left with only one yearning in their life. A yearning of oneness with someone whose love will never break and tear them apart. A yearning for someone, whose love has the ability to replenish the souls and make them resilient. We all want to avoid heartbreaks, disappointments, and painful experiences. All of us, at one point or another, in our life searched for such a curative antidote.
Only broken hearts are renewed. Heartbreaks are not new, everyone experiences it. Running after Duniya, you break yourself, not once but always. A never-ending chain of relationship failures, heartbreaks, mental breakdowns and so on. It starts and never ends until and unless you find an eternal clue, an eternal handhold. This eternity becomes your power. A power that no one can take away from you. You might have heard and read about eternal, deep ecstatic love in fictional and holy books, but you will never feel it unless you really want to embrace it. The question is: when one wants to embrace the love of God truly. I think it happens when we are broken by those whom we love sincerely and deeply. Heartbreaks are always achy, but breaking is not that bad. Broken hearts are sometimes the best ones. Cracks of broken hearts absorb the pain of those, who are suffering. Deep-ecstatic infinite love of Allah SWT is also felt most of the time when hearts are broken, into infinite pieces, in intense pain.
O Allah You and Me! Only You and Me!!
You only need to realize more deeply that you always belonged to Him and will always belong to Him, the value of every pain, every grief, and every loss will then diminish. This relation is created by Allah, by Allah ‘s will only for me and for you. These words, paper and pen can’t capture the essence of this infinite eternal love. Nor do I want it to be captured, for eternity is always meant to be free. Breaking free from all shackles, all idols of my nafs, of worldly desires for the first time I felt free. We have always been searching for love in our relations. Our souls yearned, cried, and begged for love. We are looking for love in wrong places, it is not meant to be found here. It is only to be found in His Handhold in Allah Almighty. Nowhere else.
Every pain started vanishing when I started drinking from His. eternal love
Give me more!
I want more, to escape from the attractions and shackles of this. Duniya.
I need more of your love!!
Urwa-Tul-Wusqaa is an Idol Breaker.
Urwa-Tul-Wusqaa will never leave you if you are determined to break all idols of your heart. Only hearts free of idols and necks free of shackles will be able to drink from the eternal love of Allah Subhan Wa Tallah. This love is a power, only companion and strength in every dark night and bright day. A power whose source is not any weapon yet it is the most powerful. Life has hardships for everyone, but with Urwa-Tul-Wusqaa it is smooth and satisfying. Break idols, break them before it’s too late, break them just like Prophet Ibrahim A.S broke them long ago. It’s our turn to break the idols of our hearts to purify them, to make them able to taste the love of Allah.
