How to clean converse with spots on them?

Follow the easy instructions below to clean your white Converse by hand.

Step 1: Make a cleaning solution

You must be wondering how to get rid of stains without soaking the entire shoe in water. You can make white sneakers clean by dissolving a cleaning solution in a bowl. Add cool water and mix it with mild detergent. Take another bowl and fill it with water to make it a rinsing solution after cleaning.

Step 2: Remove the shoelaces

Remove the laces of your white shoes and wash them effectively. Make sure to wash both laces separately.

Step 3: Scrub the stain

Now, dip a small area of any washcloth in the same cleaning solution. Use the washcloth to scrub the stain. Where to start? Hold the exterior part of the shoe and start working in sections. Don’t forget to scrub the soles of the shoes, as well. You can also use an old toothbrush for scrubbing if the washcloth does not work the way to remove dirt out of the shoes.

Step 4: Wipe the shoe clean

Wipe the shoe clean by dipping another section of the washcloth in simple water. Wipe the shoe until there are no traces of soap present.

Step 5: Pad the shoes with some newspaper

Pad the white clean Converse shoes with some newspaper to help restore their shape and air dry. To retain the shoe’s original whiter, let them sit out in the sun. Enjoy wearing cleanse and spotless shoes!

Caution

Whenever you are cleaning Converse sneakers, you should test the process first on one part of the shoe which is not visible, like the outer edges of the exterior section. It will help you ensure that the mild soap does not alter the color or material properties.

How to remove ink stains from your Converse shoes?

Removing ink Stains from the white Converse sneakers is quite easy. So, you don’t have to go a long way. Simply dip a section of cotton wool into a small quantity of rubbing alcohol. Now, gently rub off the ink stain.

If the ink stains do not wipe off, you should repeat the cleaning process until the ink stain is completely faded away.

Other ways to clean your Converse shoes

Other than the procedure given above you can also try the following cleaning methods:

Whitening Toothpaste:

Take any brand of whitening toothpaste. You can take toothpaste that you use at your home but it should not be gel-like. Toothpaste also doesn’t include any type of coloring. Apply it to the stained area of the Converse shoe. Scrubbing is optional (but if you do, it’d be great!), and let it sit for almost 15 minutes.

Hydrogen peroxide:

First, you need to make a mixture. Add one tablespoon of hydrogen peroxide and almost half a tablespoon of baking soda to half a tablespoon of hot water. Continuously stir a paste. Apply it to shoes and wait for 30 minutes. After the mixture is absorbed, you can scrub it for 1 to 2 minutes. Now wash it with plain water and let it sit to dry.

Bleach and baking soda

One of the easiest ways to clean white Converse is to use bleach, baking Soda, and toothpaste. Try this method out by following these steps. Mix about 50 ml of liquid bleach with one tablespoon of toothpaste, and one tablespoon of baking soda. To the mixture, add some warm water to give the paste a good texture. Apply the mixture to your shoes using a damp cloth. Remove all the dirty suds out of the shoes. Let it sit for an hour and then wash with plain water.

Use a little vinegar and baking soda to make your white sneakers shine like new. Mix one tablespoon of baking soda with two tablespoons of white vinegar (not red). Add one tablespoon of hot water to get a paste texture. You can also increase the quantity that fits your needs. Now, get your shoes wet. Fill a water basin with cold water and soak Converse in it. Let them completely wet all over.

Use an old toothbrush to scrub the mixture around your shoes. You have to make sure to cover the entire shoe. Work out all the dirt by using a white paper towel. Rinse the shoes off in hot water. Dry the shoes and stuff them with towels to help retain their shape.

Do not do this when cleaning your white Converse!

Let’s just quickly see the two things you should not do while cleaning your white Converse sneakers. First, as I told you above, do not throw a shoe in the clothes washer or dryer. It can start to collapse the adhesion of the shoe. Your sneakers may shrink and fit you oddly if washed in a dryer.

Secondly, you should always wash the laces of your Converse in a mesh lingerie bag. Do not throw your shoe in the dryer. Its heat can affect the plastic tips at the end of the laces to flux.

Enjoy clean white Converse!

Converse shoes are super easy to clean and this is a reason we all love wearing white sneakers. Not only do they look great but Converse shoes are also outstandingly serene. Remember to preprocess or treat colored stains, especially when you think the colored stains could stick on your Converse shoes. Ever tried oxygen bleach? You can try this for quick washing (consider it your best friend cleaner). For brightening and deodorizing purposes, it is incredibly best.

Follow the simple and easy steps and you’d come up with white Converse shoes that look pleasing to the eyes as new. Sometimes, it may take two to three times to clean if dirt has got stuck to the shoes. They may not look just like new (a disclaimer) as it is unlikely to remove all of the dirt from the shoes at a time. However, their look will certainly get better, that is a guarantee.
