As spring rolls in what types of deals can you expect to see? What should you buy right now? We’ve got a rundown on what’s worth “springing for”! And start humming that Pharrell Williams song, “Happy” because the number one item on our list may leave you with a big smile!
Clothing
According to DealNews’ Lindsay Sakraida this is prime time for mid-season clothing sales. “The general rule for dressing yourself in deals is to wait about two months after a new season of apparel hits stores, before cashing in on sizable discounts. Many retailers began debuting their spring merchandise in February, which means April is the two-month mark,” Sakraida says. Look for discounts up to 40% off in April, and even 50% in May.
And don’t forget Mother’s Day is right around the corner. Sakraida recommends looking now to find deals on clothing and jewelry before price hikes hit around the holiday. For more on DealNews’ money-saving predictions check out Sakraida’s complete rundown.
Air Conditioning and Heating Units
Industry insider Ramon Khan, Business Development Manager at National Air Warehouse, says now is the time to buy air conditioning and heating systems. After the terrible winter in some parts of the country, it’s hard to think about needing AC, but Khan warns though you may not want to chill out, cash in now. “I can tell you that prices raise sharply in the summer time. Companies have to hire additional staff, contractors, insurance and this all equates to higher prices. Since the winter and spring months are slower for business, HVAC companies are much more inclined to lower prices in order to compete for business.”
Summer Vacations
Though you may just be returning from Spring break, April is a great time to start getting summer vacation deals. CouponPal’s Erin Konrad advises making reservations now. “It’s always good to book several months in advance, and companies like Hotels.com and Expedia will start offering awesome bargains in the next couple of weeks.”
A New Home or a Second Home
If you’ve been thinking about moving to a new home or investing in a second home April is a great time to buy, according to real estate expert Maria Rekrut. “The best houses are put on the market in the spring and it’s easier to negotiate a great price. When you purchase the house in the springtime you can move into your home in June when your children have finished school, and you’ll be able to enjoy your house with outdoor activities, such as gardening, BBQ’s, children playing in the backyard with their very own swimming pools, boating, going to the beach, hiking and cycling.”
Speaking of cookouts, now is the time to get a great deal on BBQ’s, grills, and cookout equipment, too!
