Introduction

Feeling weak, tired, and low on energy all the time? Yes! These might be signs that your body is acidic and is in the utmost need of being alkalized immediately. If you are having such symptoms, you should have realized by now why you should never leave your body like an unattended purse. Your body is like a machine, and just like any other machine, your body also needs to be maintained and taken care of.

Leaving the body unattended and not caring about what exactly it needs, will lead to some serious acidity problems. In fact, an acidic body is a sign that you are aging way too fast, and unfortunately, this is followed by symptoms such as wrinkling and an upset hormonal system. This might also leave you with age spots. It can interfere with your eyesight, and surprisingly, it can also affect your memory. The latest studies have found that an acidic body has a connection with all the diseases, one way or the other.

Aging and acidity

The normal pH of the human body is 7.35, which is slightly alkaline. As we grow, our body’s buffering ability declines gradually. This build-up of acidic conditions in the body results in skin aging and acidic internal organs. Moreover, there is a link between aging and the amount of gastric acid secretion in human bodies; that is, it increases with age.

Doctors claim that as we grow older, our bodies become more and more acidic, so acidity is related to aging. Older people have bodies that are full of toxic substances that have accumulated throughout their lives. If there was a way to keep your body and its organs safe from getting acidic, you could actually slow down the process of aging. There is a list of signs and symptoms that your body is acidic.

  • Weakness and lack of energy
  • Having depression, anxiety, and panic attacks.
  • Body aches and pains
  • Experience severe heartburns
  • Feeling sleepy at all times.
  • Elevated dental decay
  • Suffering from nausea and diarrhea

An acidic body leads to a weak immune system on which diseases attack like bees on sugar. Diseases like cancers, bacterial infections, high levels of salts and minerals in the body leading to kidney stones, osteoarthritis, problems with indigestion, joint and ligament problems can result from a long-term acidic body.

High acidity and low minerals

Our body has to maintain homeostasis, which means when the body runs low on something, certain processes are activated in the body to make up for the deficiency. Increased acidity compels the body to borrow minerals from organs and bones, which weakens them. Minerals like calcium, potassium, magnesium, and sodium are crucial for our bodies.

Deficiency of these leads to corrosion of the body.

Acidosis

A condition of excess acidic substances in the body is referred to as acidosis. For instance, the absence of sodium bicarbonate from the body leads to hyperchloremic acidosis. Lactic acidosis is another example. Vital organs like the liver, kidneys, and heart can suffer serious damage from acidosis and can lead to increased body weight followed by diabetes.

When our bodies, especially our lungs as well as kidneys, are unable to maintain the pH of the body, it leads to acidosis. Almost all processes in the human body are slightly acidic in nature and need to be alkalized.

Symptoms of Acidosis

  • Excessive burping
  • Sudden weight loss
  • Nonstop hiccups
  • Bloating
  • Vomiting blood in severe cases
  • Bad throat and coughing
  • Wheezing
  • Nausea

Acidic Urine

Our daily diet determines the pH quality of our urine. If the pH of your urine is very low, it means your urine is acidic. It can lead to diabetic problems. Cold drinks, fish, food rich in sugar, and food rich in protein can lead to more acidic urine.

Foul-smelling and cloudy urine might result from a high level of acidity in the body. Our bodies remove nitrogenous and other waste from the body in the form of urine or feces. If there is a pH imbalance in the body, the urine becomes more acidic than usual. In severe cases, one might experience blood with the urine.

Dehydration also causes acidic urine, so keep your body hydrated. Even your tea can increase your body’s acidic level if it is not brewed or stored in the proper way. So try to reduce your intake of caffeine as much as possible. Consuming too many beverages can also result in acidic urine as alcohol is acidic in nature, so be careful before holding that glass of beer, especially if your body is already high in acids.

Eat fruits like bananas because they are rich in potassium.

Mix a teaspoon of lemon or baking soda in a tall glass of water and have it first thing in the morning. One other important thing in this regard is to keep regular meal times as this will maintain the sugar levels in your body. Turmeric is alkaline in nature, and it can also help you alkalinize your body.

Natural herbs like rosemary, sage, basil, and parsley can also help to alkalize your body.

Exercise and acidity

When was the last time you exercised? Exercise might help you reduce acidity levels and relieve symptoms of an acidic body. But make sure to do low-impact exercises as some exercises can increase your acidity problems and your condition might get worse.

Conclusion

Having an acidic body isn’t a problem, but leaving it acidic is. How often do we exercise? Do we drink the required 6 to 7 glasses of water per day? Is our food hygienic enough? We have to take care of these little things in order to avoid acidity.

Our bodies need attention, and if we neglect them, we suffer the consequences. It is always better to be safe than sorry. By taking these appropriate measures, we avoid elevated acidic levels. Drinking a large volume of water, having a proper diet, avoiding alcohol, and using natural alkaline herbs can help us reduce acidity levels, and these herbs also have anti-aging powers. These can also keep your skin young and fresh, boost your immune system, and detoxify your body with their cleansing properties.
