Ever wondered how we are comfortable with something at one point in life and a couple of years or decades later that thing becomes outdated.It is because we as human beings are prone to “trends”. Anything new that comes in our block we try to go for it especially when it is attainable.There are hundreds of trends going on around us at the moment and on closer analysis we will we will notice that we are a part of intentionally or unintentionally.Sad thing is before adopting a particular trend we don’t usually look check pros and cons of of that thing ‘ which results in a situation as if we say that “if there is a race I’m in” without knowing that this might harm them but there is one thing that can keep us away from following these trends whether it be food or any other trend, is our body.One should always be OK with his/her self and looks but excess weight is something that irritates the most to the person who is suffering from it.Yes! you read it right “the person actually has to suffer due to overweight”. There are couple of very effective ways to get rid of excess weight but the one that is trending is “detox”. People have personally advised me hundreds of times to apt for a detox diet to “reduce” weight without actually knowing what detox diet is and how it might affect a person’s body (of course both useful and harmful affects)
What detox actually is? We don’t really need an explanation for this as it clearly explains itself. The word De-tox seems to be something that could chuck the toxic substances away. Just by the meaning we got convinced that it will be effective for our body.How dangerous toxic elements in one’s body can be we all know, and how they generate in our body totally depends on our diet.To cleanse our body from toxic elements, detox diet is quite effective because a detox diet includes drinking plenty of water and staying away from fast/junk and processed foods (which is the major source of toxic elements in our body). The idea is all about staying as natural as one can be for better functioning of vital organs and healthy living which needs fresh air, fresh fruit and veggies and quitting or limiting high fat/confectionery foods/caffeinated beverages which results in noticeable weight loss. It helps in improving immune system, boost up circulation and cleanse the digestion process along with the elimination of toxic elements from the body and gives a fresh start.

We should not forget to look at the other side of the picture.This type of diet might be useful in detoxifying our body and apparent weight loss but in actual practice it is not that useful. Limiting yourself from routine diet and adapting all natural routine results in loss of many essential nutrients and it is something that you can’t go with for so long so the weight loss becomes temporary. Eating same food through out the diet plan develops unhealthy obsession towards food.The most important thing that we miss out in this whole scenario is that we don’t really need any detoxifying agent to cleanse our body as our organs are designed in such a way that they clear all impurities on their own. Moreover it is highly un recommended for teenagers as this diet is short of nutrients that one need while growing and due to restriction of calories one might feel fatigue and low energy.
"Detox" Trend Obsession

We just need to take balanced diet so we won’t put extra pressure on our body by taking in bulk of unhealthy food and our organs will do just fine on their own in keeping us fit and healthy.A balanced diet includes proper intake of protein, carbohydrates etc which during a detox diet won’t be possible as it restricts us from dairy products, all types of meat, sugar consumption.Detox usually gives a sense of freshness so for that we could have a couple of detox juices in our routine.For example we can have this drink in our routine which is one of my personal favorite and very effective.

INGREDIENTS:

  • Water 1 liter (sufficient for a day)
  • Cucumber 1 (medium size)
  • Ginger 2 inch piece
  • Mint 10 leaves
  • Honey 1 tbsp
  • Lemon 1 (take 2 if the size is small or 2 large if you have belly fat )

METHOD: Pour in all the ingredients together and leave it overnight or minimum 5 hours in refrigerator.Finish it within a day along with your normal diet.

PERKS: It will not only keep us hydrated and fresh and kill toxic elements but also keep our skin glowing and will burn calories too so stay healthy and always be blessed for what you have.
